According to the WSJ, analyst's are speculating that Packard Bell made a bet on 75 mhz processors, and customers are going for the faster machines. However, I don't know if this is true. Packard Bell has always been a poor money manager and this could be just another example. I think if they really got in trouble NEC or someone else would buy them outright. THe other take on this, at CNBC, was that the money probelms could be caused by a fall in the popularity of computers in general; but the guest they had on (a retailer) said that the figures don't support this. I still haven't seen any evidence that there is any falloff in demand for Intel products, but we may have to wait until they report to find out if this is true.
