Asante Names Ron Volkmar Vice President of Sales and Distribution

SAN JOSE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 11, 1998--Asante Technologies,
Inc. (NASDAQ:ASNT), a leading provider of high-performance networking
products, today announced the appointment of Ron Volkmar as vice president
of sales and distribution, Americas.
In his new role, Volkmar oversees Asante sales in the US, Canada and
Latin America, including regional sales operations, channel development,
distribution, and technical support.
Volkmar brings more than 20 years experience in the computer and
networking industries. Most recently, he was president of Mustang
MicroSystems in Austin, Texas, a marketing and sales consulting firm. Prior
to that, he held senior sales management positions at Run Inc., Prometheus,
Inc., and Apple Computer. He was vice president of sales at Asante from
1989 to 1994. Volkmar was educated at Southern Illinois University.
