Re: Young Folk Portfolio -- Buys

Today I used up all of the remaining cash that was sitting idle waiting to be invested. I added to the following:

BA is coming off its first profitable quarter in some time and they are finally getting orders for new planes. From my perspective this is a leading indicator that BA is in the early stages of a turnaround and this is a turnaround play for this portfolio. Having just turned their first profitable quarter and are now getting new contracts, I would assume that most of the bad news for BA has already been priced in and there seems to be potentially a lot more upside here than downside. It's a high probability play but it still needs time for it to play out.

BA is a new position, starting out with a 1/2 sized position.

T is a speculative play for this portfolio. With the sale of the streaming business, the cash from that is going to pay down some of the high debt owed by T. That debt has been a ball and chain around their neck. With T lowering their debt, and now able to focus on their core business, it has the potential to turn into a reliable and steady company.

T is also a new position, starting out with a 1/2 sized position.

I also added to AAPL today. AAPL was already a full position and I have now taken it overweight.

AAPL seems to be a favorite of the analysts as I discovered of the 73 analysts following AAPL they have the following ratings:

59 - Bullish
13 - Neutral
1 - Sell

Overall consensus is between a Buy and a Strong Buy, it was enough for me to overweight the position.

ANTM was another company I added to today among some very strong financials. ANTM has some very impressive financial ratings from Jefferson Research at this time.

Earnings Quality - Strongest
Cash Flow Quality - Strong
Operating Efficiency - Strongest
Balance Sheet - Strong
Valuation - Least Risk

Of the 34 analysts following ANTM, here are their ratings:

22 - Bullish
17 - Neutral
0 - Sell

It was enough to warrant an add on position.
