Problem was, once I quit the tape, I couldn't get the TV channel back. I had the cable feed from the wall going into the player, then to the TV. Seems like that's what the directions said to do, but I couldn't get it to work.
With that alignment, the player does the tuning for you. So your TV has to be set to channel 2 or 3 or 4 (check the manual) and you switch channels using the player's remote. The TV's source has to be the player to watch television. Depending on the age of that tv, the tv's remote may call the source 'tv/vcr'.
