Re: Intel has been a poor performer for almost two years now, especially so when compared to the overall market.

What market are you looking at? Intel's stock price rose 68.8% in 1998, had a 2-year annualized increase of 35.6% from 1997-1998, and a 3-year annualized increase of 61% annualized increase from 1996-1998. Which overall market performed better than this?

You can pick and choose any dates you want for any company and show poor performance, but 1, 2, and 3 year (maybe 5 and 10 also) compounded annual returns are what most people look at (and what mutual funds routinely publish).
