Tango,

I agree. Remember that WSTL vaulted to the mid $50's in mid-June..... well before there ever was a mention of the "gang of four" RFP in late July.

It proceeded to drop harshly in the June/July NASDAQ selloff of tech stocks and rebounded sharply thereafter.

From my point of view, the fact that an order has been placed is positive news for ALL ADSL companies. It must be remembered that this initial order is very very small compared to the overall potential of this market. This technology is going to change the face of telecommunications and won't begin to be fully realized until late 1997 and into 1998.

The ADSL stocks are going to continue to be quite volatile until WS is convinced that ADSL is going to happen. The reaction to the loss of the RFP has been quite severe, and probably not justified unless ADSL is going to die after this order.

If WS thought it was worth $40/$50 before the RFP - what is difference now other than a order going to a competitor?

Regards, Alan
