Bermudians refer to themselves as "Onions" - the island's most famous product. They were raised there & exported to the U.S. for centuries until N.C. discovered their Bermuda onion crops were as tasty and more cost efficient. If you make a return trip, try the Frog and Onion pub at the Royal Naval Dockyards. It's the closest thing to an authentic English pub on the island.
