Yes I am using CC Cleaner and I think that is where the program lies. You hit on it. I also took the advice of not checking to have the scan done when the computer is off. SEe how little I know about computers....... Thank you BK Meyers for your insight into what might be causing the problem. I will follow your instructions. ML
