Q1 1999 earnings 57% higher than Q1 1998 earnings. That's true, but Q1-98 was down 35% from Q1-97, and Q1-99 was up only 4% from Q1-97 In the last earnings report Intel projected flat to slightly lower earnings for this quarter and the next, as I recall.
