Fortunately I think we are a little better off than Spain was. They came here and used a huge slave labour pool to produce their wealth. We are producing a large domestic infrastructure which has corollary benefits.. and have no empire to finance as they did :o) Throwing money at manufacturing will happen but of course that continually reduces the need for workers.. IOW increases productivity.. but yes we need to develop other enterprises.. more scientific research ..

Detroit ? naw just because it's got a French name doesn't mean we want it, Windsor is bad enough.. ;o) but Frank Stronach (Magna Corp) appears to be one of Chrysler's suitors...
