Apparently the term misdemeanor had a somewhat different meaning some two hundred years ago.It meant a more severe type of crime than it does today.

"Demeanor" has always meant "behavior." "Misdemeanor" means "bad behavior." I think (and I'd expect you to agree) that the authors of the Constitution wanted someone in the highest office of the land to behave himself in a responsible manner.

I don't understand why you keep trying to explain why he shouldn't be allowed in office.

He lied to us, pezz. He lied to his Cabinet, he lied to you, and he lied to me. The next time he sends Marines ashore, how do we know he's telling us why those kids really have to risk their lives? His lying kept him from holding a Cabinet meeting for eight months, while tensions in the Balkans, North Korea, and Iraq escalated. I keep asking you: if he lied to us about something so inconsequential as an illicit affair, why won't he lie to us about something much more important to his agenda?
