Ms. Jennifer Cue reports
Starbucks has chosen three flavours of Jones Soda to be placed in all of
the Starbucks locations in Western Canada.
Effective immediately, Jones Soda's flavours, including Orange, Root Beer
and Slim Lime Cola, have been authorized and will be placed to be sold in
130 Starbucks' Western Canadian stores. In addition, Starbucks will be
selling Jones Soda in Toronto in select stores by mid-August, 1999.
Cindy Bokitch, food and beverage manager for Western Canada for Starbucks
stated: "We are excited to now have Jones Soda as part of our non-coffee
line-up of beverages. Jones Soda is a fun and exciting growth beverage
brand and we feel that the target market of Jones will complement that of
our existing beverage line-up. We are also looking forward to opportunities
for cross-promotions with Jones Soda."
Urban Juice & Soda is very pleased with the Starbucks placement. Rick Hill,
sales manager for Canada stated: "We are thrilled to be a part of the
bottled beverage line up at Starbucks, who has such a high quality brand
image in the marketplace. Selling Jones through Starbucks will
significantly increase consumer as well as retailer awareness for Jones
throughout Western Canada."
Starbucks Coffee Company is the leading retailer, roaster and brand of
