actually ibn may not be an arabic word at all ? I think it is prevalent in moslems of Pakistan and Persia and afghanistan and India. The context in which it is used just slips me totally at the moment. Maybe I'll pick up a few Mirza Ghalib books later to see how he uses it. There are many dialects and languages which are derived from the arabic alphabets....and they SOUND alike, but they are not really the same.. and no, Osama is not a trendsetter. I studied arabic for almost a year....and thats where my comment comes from... Not that that matters in the context at all...just a datapoint.
