Any stock that trades below 5 bucks is usually not marginable and thus can not be shorted unless you are a MM. In the case of XYBR, it was trading, i believe, somewhere in the 2 to 3 dollar range before it shot up. I tried looking for stock yesterday and no broker I called had any. Besides, XYBR may not have many shares outstanding in the first place which would make it hard to find.
