Splits : Monday, the following stocks will begin trading on a split-adjusted basis: DUK. Earnings : Monday before the open: ANAD, T, AWE, GR, LLL, MYL, TSN, UK, XRX are expected to post quarterly results. Verizon Comms (VZ) 51 15/16 +3/4 (+1.5%): AT&T (T) issues press release stating that a judge has reaffirmed 1999 decision ordering Verizon to fully separate its wholesale and retail operations. Guidant Corp (GDT) 48 1/2 +1/2 (+1%): Study reveals that patients using Guidant's heart failure technology had marked improvement in their condition. QUALCOMM (QCOM) 80 3/16 +6 1/4 (+8.5%): -- Update -- Technical -- Inches to a new daily and weekly high in recent action after pushing back above its 200 day simple ma (76 1/2) this morning. While 78 1/2-77 1/2 holds firm there is potential for further upticks. Next resistance is at 82 1/2-83 1/2 (50 day ma/reversal target). Overextended shorter term indicators suggest may have some difficulty initially with this area.
