Telemar investirá R$ 1 bi em telefones fixos sem fio Quarta-feira, 24 de Maio de 2000 - 18h07 IDG Now! "Em março acaba a reserva da Vésper e aí passaremos a vender linhas com tecnologia Wireless Local Loop (WLL)", anunciou ontem (24/05) à noite o presidente da Telemar, Manoel Horácio Franscisco da Silva, no Rio de Janeiro. A tecnologia dispensa a necessidade de postes e fios telefônicos agilizando o atendimento da solicitação das linhas pelos clientes, principalmente nas periferias das grandes cidades. Segundo notícia publicada no jornal O Estado de S.Paulo, Horácio afirma que serão investidos R$ 1 bilhão na instalação de 500 mil novas linhas nos 16 estados onde a operadora oferece cobertura. Hoje o WLL já encontra-se em uso pela Vésper, concorrente da Telemar no Rio de Janeiro, mas a partir de março de 2001, quando termina a reserva de mercado dela, a ex-Telerj poderá explorar o serviço. No Ceará a rede já começou a ser construída pela Telemar e conta com investimentos de R$ 28 milhões. Half million lines will be implemented by mirror company Telemar.
