While the PC is switched on, and connected to the network. Switch the printer off using the recommended method as detailed in your manual (not important for getting your printer recognised by your PC though). wait 30 seconds or so, then switch it back on.

If that doesnt work, go into your network and check the printer is visible on the network. You might have to set it up on the network in that case.

I just checked my network now I have switched on the desktop. The Printer was already switched on and connected. It didn't show on the network though. So I switched the printer OFF then ON using the appropriate method, while my PC was on, and hey presto, there it is. I can print as much as I want now. I prefer the network arrangement as the printer is located remotely on the wifi. It's a Canon MG5200.

I am sure there is a way for automatically configuring the network so your printer is always recognised while connected, but this way suits me for now.
