NEW PRODUCTS MAY BE IN TROUBLE... A Small competitor, Matrix Integrated Systems...longtime competitor in the market but slowed when management could not manage the growth, has a new management team and just introduced a new product at Semicon which is smaller, faster and cheaper than the GSNX product offering. In fact, the new 300 mm tool is smaller and faster than MTSN's200mm tool.... Haven't read much about this, but look at what Fusion did with a new product in the mid-ninties....took 15% market share in less than 3 years....while MTSN and GSNX watched. MTSN was also a new entrant in the early nineties and got market share.... Will Matrix be next to gain market share at the expense of GSNX and MTSN.
