My suspicion was correct. I'm not doing the status/userlevel conversion during login. However, I've got a routine that converts all existing activated accounts, just ran it, and my account went to the correct userlevel.

The routine will run every 10 minutes, and the change in your userlevel is taken into account immediately, rather than after you logout/login.
