Odd as it sounds, few people will prefer to add in a $60 USB 2.0 card, they'll just prefer to buy a new PC etc. Similarly, odd as it seems, many people will refuse to add more disk space, they'll just get a new PC.

It isn't odd sounding to me. Would you spend $500 to repair a car that was worth only $1,000? Only if your budget forbids you from a new purchase.

I recently upgraded my PC because every time I made a change it became more and more complicated to get everything to work together. You reach a point where you are afraid that nothing is going to work right. And the thought of spending 4 or 5 hours to try and get everything working together just isn't worth it. Now, obviously, I am not a computer expert, but I'll bet I'm close to the average Joe out there.
