That's another point we don't see eye to eye on. I don't think America is turning into a shooting gallery. We have three hundred million people in this country. Maybe a hundred and fifty million guns in private ownership. On the news, we see maybe ten thousand of these guns, like the rifle that featured so awfully in Arkansas a month ago. Those of us who trust the media umpires see a continuous negative slant on guns. I find this to be... unfortunate. When's the last time you saw a combat pistol race on network TV? Or a prairie dog shoot?

We come at this topic from completely different places. I won't be so careless as to say I understand where you're coming from. But as one who is not a real good leftist, my dorsal fin comes right on up at the thought of Great Society bureaulogers telling me what's an individual or collective right.

Now what we can argue about (if you wanna argue for the fish of it) is if America is really falling apart. We don't need to invoke guns for that!
