SETI is going to do the AGW model for fame and fortune.

Order of events:
-Prediction
-Possible detection
-Absolute proof of possible detection
-Confirmation by other SETI scientists that there is absolute proof of a possible detection
-The absolute proof of possible detection suggests that they are not friendly
-It's settled! the proof of possible detection confirms that they are not friendly
-SETI scientists on TV 24/7, federal funding starts flowing to Aliend Detection Science. Rocket Scientists are hired back from the movie studios.
-Call to arms. We must protect ourselves at any cost, from these space marauders
-Legislation to raise taxes to fight off aliens.
-Skeptics emerge. Some say that the aliens are probably friendly. Some say that data has been manipulated.
-Al Gore launches the Alien Protection Society and doubles his wealth over night.
-Algorithm that is used to detect alien communications is found to sow the same results if any white noise from an AM radio is fed into the algorithm
-The algorithm will actually give the same results if any recorded music is used as input. In fact, any RF signal will output a series of prime numbers.
-skeptics publicly hanged.
