EMR - RECENT MANAGEMENT APPOINTMENTS
FREDERICTON, N.B., Nov. 7 /CNW/ - EMR Microwave Technology Corporation (``EMR'') (EMW-ASE) is pleased to announce that it has ratified the
appointment of two senior management positions at its recent meeting of the
Board of Directors.
Mr. Carl Ash, B.Sc., FCA, fills the position of Chief Financial Officer,
effective 1 September 1996. Mr. Ash is a member and past president of the New
Brunswick Institute of Chartered Accountants and has consulted throughout his
professional life for many major corporations in New Brunswick. His
professional background includes 19 years as a partner with one of New
Brunswick's largest regional accounting firms, the last four years as managing
partner, before joining EMR. Mr. Ash is responsible for financial reporting,
treasury, financial planning and supervision of accounting staff.
Mr. Charles Thornton, B.Sc., M.Ed. (Admin.) has been appointed
Vice-President-Operations effective 1 August 1996. Mr. Thornton brings over 25
years experience in research and contract administration for the University of
New Brunswick. His primary responsibility includes project management,
resource allocation, supervision of ongoing R&D programs including technical
teams, systems planning and budget control of these area.
