The Journey

On the same Thursday that Tim would depart this land there would be other departures, we learned why Tim was gone, albeit much later, for these other writers, we might never know. Some may start talking again, some may not, the reader can decide what is likely. This is not idle speculation on my part, people do come back, even ones that left July 25, 2002 and were gone for almost two years (needless to say this kind of event causes rewrites)

Each of these stories revolves around a member of our community who made their last public post to SI within a few hours of Tim Luke's last post, in choosing that thread to sew the tale I have, I hope, made it clear that we really are each other. There is detail in the new land and this creates value. It isn't always possible to see the details, we are makers and made, without participation the fabric is not woven and we cannot be separated from the work. We are investors, it is the theme that drives the looms of this land, the birth of new participants is our capital, our natural wealth and our raison d'etre. We choose to be, we exist, for reasons that may not be entirely clear to others and in some cases to ourselves. When we are born here our kit consists of all the things that we can successfully carry in from the other world and like most explorers of the unknown, we don't always make the appropriate choices for survival. This story is about survival, it is about surviving as an investor, about trust, integrity and most importantly, belief.
