lol, I can imagine that... The simplest solution would probably be something like "In my line of work, I routinely go undercover to better gather information. Thus, it is second nature to me. I did so this time simply to avoid calling attention to myself." Though given his personality, Tony would do about as well "underground" as the Goodyear Blimp. Seriously, there's another possibility, a rather mundane one. Could it be that for some reason he'd ALWAYS been traveling as Manny Velasco? And that the reason for the upset, and the arrest, was that he'd decided to return to San Diego earlier than planned, and neglected to inform the Feds? A tempest in a teapot? I confess that I can't think of any reason why the Feds would have wanted him to travel under an alias, especially such a silly one.
