If Republicans wanted a recovery, they would support some economic stimulus. Government sponsored economic stimulus may cause a brief spike in economic activity, but in the end it does more damage than good. Proof of this is with the automobile incentives and real estate incentives. These incentives rob from future sales and start wild corrective swings in the sales cycle. The economic stimulus packages are like slamming meth or heroin. They give a good buzz, but the crash when you come down is a real bitch. It's good to now that there is at least one democrat who isn't a total fool looking for immediate gratification.
