Yes it is for now - you want to change it - go start a petition or get a constitutional convention convened.
Or just wait for a liberal activist Supreme Court to declare that the 2nd amendment actually refers to a "well-regulated militia" and was never intended to apply to one's right to self-defense.

This stuff doesn't happen in a vacuum, Eric. You can't take the 2nd amendment's existence for granted. That's why the "but, but, the 2nd amendment!" argument isn't effective.
