Paradyne Ranked Among Top Four ADSL Leaders In 2Q00

LARGO, Fla. Aug. 31, 2000--Paradyne Networks today announced that a recent report issued by the Dell'Oro Group, a leading market research firm, ranked Paradyne fourth among market leaders in revenue for 2Q00 based on sales of its ADSL central office equipment, and third in quarterly revenue growth.

According to the report, the ADSL market as a whole grew by 40 percent to $413 million with Paradyne posting 53 percent growth in 2Q00.

``We are very pleased to be recognized for the progress we are making in our DSL business,'' said Mark Housman, vice president of marketing for Paradyne. ``Customers are selecting the value of our multiservices Hotwire® GranDSLAM and our strategy of providing the industry standards plus innovative long loop reach and service level managed solutions. This report is further evidence of the widespread acceptance of our products.

``The Dell'Oro report supports our internal analysis of the market which uses ports of capacity as a primary metric,'' said Housman. ``We've shipped over 10,500 DSLAMs, providing over 3 million ports of capacity, ranking Paradyne among the top three DSL equipment vendors with 19% market share.''
