Fli-by, this is due to market makers having the upper hand. i believe this is why tom stresses to get your shares in certificate form. right now, the market makers have the freedom to "play around" with the bid/ask prices basically to shake "loose hands out" The reason they do this (lower the bid) is to make the investor (you or i) get a little worried and start selling the stock at something lower than you expected. they are more than happy to pick your shares up at the lower bid price. key to beating all of these games is not to sell IMO. roulette (HI all, i have been watching this thread for a LONG time, have been invested in BETT for around 18 months and have a substantial position in the company i am excited about) BETT has something going for them and we will all be benefactors of that someday! :>
