The financing, consisting of private placement and flow through shares, was lead by Mr. Jim LymBurner and included the participation of the AGF Fund, Conner Capital and Wolverton Securities. This financing enables Taurus to aggressively move forward into its current phase of work programs. Taurus is commencing drill programs on two of its properties which include the "Lyon" deposit in the state of Nevada and the "Martniere-D" deposit on the Abitibi Greenstone Belt in the Casa Berardi region of northern Quebec and Ontario. Originally discovered by USX Corporation in 1960, the 5240-acre Lyon project represents one of the largest undeveloped copper-gold-magnetite deposits in North America. Lyon has a defined mineral resource of over 12 million tons grading an average of 3.41% copper in three high-grade copper-gold-magnetite skarns which have been only partially defined by 44 previous drill holes. Taurus begins its initial step-out drill program in early February 1999 that may produce results that will as much as double the current existing resource. The "Martinere-D" property has received significant work by Cyprus Canada Inc., Taurus' partners on the prospect. This work resulted in the intersection of 12.5 grams/ton gold over 2.5 meters and 1.07 grams/ton gold over 12 meters in two separate intercepts in a discovery hole drilled by Cyprus. Taurus is planning to drill a minimum of nine additional step-out holes totaling 2,000 meters to expand this discovery in its upcoming drill program scheduled to commence in early February. The success Taurus has experienced in acquiring high quality exploration targets with significant mineral resources coupled with its ability to complete critical financing is largely due to its expert management team lead by President and C.E.O., Mr. Robert Blakestad. Mr. Blakestad's 30 years of extensive worldwide mining exploration expertise, including previous tenures with Cyprus Amax and Amax Gold Inc. have earned him the reputation of being one of the top generative exploration professionals in the industry today.
