Intro

This is an examination of the fundamentalist attack launched on the World Trade Center and the impact of that attack on our SI. This world, our world, is a reflection of reality viewed through a filter. Many people who come to SI as visitors feel this connection though they do not experience it as fully as the inhabitants. This story is not a visitor piece, its meaning, though clear, is directed to those of us who live here. I offer it to my fellow SI members apprehensively, I must leave behind much of my digital fabric to spin this small tale about our world, about the people who live here and how we were affected.
It isn't enough to know we are here, at some point each one of us will come to realize that these digital extensions are a facet of underlying reality. That which impacts on any facet of a structure effectively impacts the entire structure. This truth is difficult for newcomers to glean, what they see and what is going on can be very very different.
