<<With a new intensity of anger and determination, President Bush and Prime Minister Tony Blair of Britain pledged again today that the regime of Saddam Hussein will be destroyed, no matter how long it takes.>>

Watching Fox news this morning was useless in regard to what progress is being made
Two things about the War are certain-
1. Saddam will be eliminated and neither GWB or TB will stop before its done.
2. Saddam will try every dirty trick in the book, break every rule of warfare to stop them.
Congress could try to stop the war, but is in no position to do that. It is not a new war, its a war that re-started when Iraq violated the terms of the Armistice. And they would go against the will of over 70% of the citizens.
They may be able to slow progress by failing to appropriate sufficient funds, but their interference in such a way could easily be bypassed, and they would suffer severe political consequences from causing un-needed
US casualties by extending the war or failing to support the troops.
GWB has IMO given orders to Gen Franks to continue this effort regardless of the cost and complaints until the villain is finished.
Popularity, elections, party favors, trade relations, Israeli concerns, Iran concerns all take a back seat to the primary goal . It is important to get around to those items so the Coalition is moving a fast as practical and will continue to do so.
