Ron, drag-n-drop is good because it requires no special software to recover files. When the files on the C drive are unaccessible, the recovery software might be, too.

I use Karen's Replicator to back up folders, but do it manually and don't use compression.
I also make a system image weekly. As you know, one can recover individual files from an image.

Which reminds me to practice that NOW :)
