Re: Resource Usage
Hutch suggested in a PM that, instead of letting Windows manage my virtual memory, that I manually set it, then eyeball my resource usage. I did this and the difference was significant. My response to him was:
I set the minimum to 400 megs as suggested, rebooted and my Resource Meter showed 89% User free, same as before...
However!...I proceeded to open IE5 with two windows, proprietary broker software, Quicken, email program, Word 97 and Excel, (McAfee AV in the background)...before decreasing the Resource Meter to 34%...
I have never been able to do that before!... Doesn't make sense to me, but I'll take it...thanks!
Obviously, this seems worth a try to anyone...Zeddie88?...with the same experience of adding memory with no apparent improvement.
However, I don't know how this reconciles with the article by Al Fasoldt. Maybe someone else does though...
