Suma, good progress with the new mouse. Usually mouses work by just plugging in and any additional software just adds features.

You are using Internet Explorer [IE] on the Toshiba?
and you say
Every day a message comes up on my e mail. Google no longer supports G mail and asks me to use Chrome. I dismiss.
That's confusing to me. But I used to get similar messages on an XP computer when accessing gmail from the IE browser. And, IE could not be upgraded within XP.

For now, please confirm whether you are using IE on the T.
You can ignore the Google nag a little longer :)

Next, in your open IE click on the little gear icon just below the x upper right corner and choose [click] 'about Internet Explorer'. What version is it? [mine is V11 on windows 8.1]

So, answer my questions and we'll take it from there
