Concentration of power has shown throughout history to end up with corruption, no matter what niceties are used to start with.

The reason is that with a great concentration of power, it's inevitable ruthless people will attempt to gain control. Only checks, balances, and public disclosure thwart that. Instead, we now have none of those.

The level of secrecy and unaccountability creates a Constitutional crisis, when an Executive can take over the airwaves, essentially lock the town-hall doors and prevent others from taking the national podium. And when the Executive can hide not only what his group is doing, but the previous administrations going back 30 years.
