Ilmarinen,

<< I heard the Verinozone SMS handling is kind of in the twilight zone. >>

I heard that the Nokia 5185i is in the twilight zone when dealing with Verinozone SMS handling.

Guess one could say Verinozone & Nokia are in there together.

Since Audiovox, Motorola, and Kyocera, are dealing with it, it sort of becomes incumbent and crucial for Nokia to deal with it.

It's called building expertise in CDMA.

Sprint PCS still has NO Nokia in its lineup.

EMC's estimates have just shown that CDMA has replaced TDMA as the dominant wireless technology in the US as of December.

EMC's estimated scorecard:

CDMA - 31.2m

TDMA - 30.4m

As AMPS disappears, estimates are for CDMA to have > 50% North American market share by 2004.

Note: Verizon added the Motorola Timeport P8767 to its tri-mode lineup this week

The lineup is now:

* Nokia 5185i

* Audiovox CDM 9000

* Kyocera QCP-2035

* Motorola StarTAC 7868

* Motorola Timeport P8767

The Nokia model is the only model that is not WAP web enabled.
