<The Strategis Group expects a steady erosion of the 2G subscriber base, falling from 97% of the total cellular market in 2000 to 82% by 2007. A corresponding increase in 2.5/3G subscriber shares is anticipated, from 0.3% of the market in 2000 to 18% in 2007. This is reflective of the world migration trends where 1G and 2G subscribers upgrade to either 2.5G or 3G compatible systems. While the operators have yet to stand firm on one particular 3G standard, The Strategis Group expects WCDMA to make the most headway, but may not be the only standard in China. Trials of TD-SCDMA are expected to begin this year.>

I'm beginning to wonder just how much research goes into these reports. Was this written recently? I guess I could understand it if this was written a year ago, but I'd be pissed if I spent a bunch of money on reports that were off the mark as this seems to be.
