Last night the guy at our video store said they are open Thanksgiving. I think this is a fairly new phenomenon. The other day I drove past a McDonald's in Centreville that had a big banner sign announcing it would be open. They wouldn't have done that, I don't think, were it SOP. Since then I've noticed announcements in several places.
