All we can do is the best we can and try to keep a kindly heart.

Nothing else to do.

And kindness, as best we can figure it, will lead in the right direction most of the time. So we do have a compass of sorts.

But when it gets into invading a culture's belief system, it can get tough e.g. I feel the United nations should categorically outlaw all female genital mutilation. Lot's of that still going on.

In my own family we have a standing debate over natives killing whales for food given the whales intelligence.

Time going forward does seem to have a moral arrow.

Robert Sawyer says that is based on game theory? I didn't really understand his reasoning.

I just made sure my kids thought about being kind.
