Super tanker - Aprox. 300,000 dwt, some are over 400K

Stinger warhead - about 3 kg

Stingers are anti-aircraft weapons, not anti-ship weapons. Yes they could home in on heat sources on a ship, but they don't have the power to cause severe damage to a ship. Its like tossing several hand grenades on the deck and thinking you are going to sink the ship.

Also the Iranians don't have Stingers. Not that it matters a whole lot they do have weapons that are similar, but 3kg warheads do not make for a weapon that can sink a tanker or a warship, at least if they don't impact at near the speed of light and they aren't made of anti-matter.

The warship you are talking about in the Yemen situation, the USS Cole, was 1 - A tiny fraction of the size of a tanker, 2 - Hit by a large explosion, not 3kg, 3 - was at anchor, and was at a lower state of readiness than any of our warships today, and 4 - Didn't sink
