On the contrary. With today's gold plunge, and given Placer's greater price swings (percentage wise) compared to, for example, the TSE precious metals index, Placer would ordinarily be down a lot more. Instead, it finished down just 40›, or about 2.5% compared to a 5% plunge in the index.
