Idaho receives Picket Pin sampling results Idaho Consolidated Metals Corp IDO Shares issued 29,294,399 Oct 27 close $0.55 Mon 30 Oct 2000 News Release Mr. Wilf Struck reports Idaho Consolidated Metals has received its results from a surface sampling program targeted on the eastern portion of the Picket Pin horizon, a 20-kilometre-long PGM-bearing horizon that runs parallel to and north of the J-M reef in the Stillwater complex of Montana. The samples were collected from exposures over a six-kilometre length on the eastern part of Picket Pin. Historic information indicates the Picket Pin horizon is as wide as 10 metres in some sections. Mineralization is associated with sulphide-rich lenses in the footwall of the zone directly below a troctolitic unit. "The airborne geophysical work conducted this summer was very effective in delineating the zone and, in fact, extended the zone easterly an additional two miles beneath gravel and paleozoic cover," said Wilf Struck, vice-president, exploration. Mr. Struck also noted that the airborne work revealed two large conductors south of the Picket Pin zone that will be followed up at a later date. At a cutoff grade of 0.2 of a gram per tonne of combined PGMs, 20 chip samples returned values ranging from 0.214 to 4.568 grams per tonne combined PGMs. The average value of all the samples was 1.73 grams. Highlights from the program are listed in the table below. The combined values include assays for platinum, palladium and rhodium. For example, the 4.568-g/t sample consisted of 1,955 grams of platinum, 2,520 grams of palladium and 0.093 of a gram of rhodium. A 3.663-g/t sample yielded 1.130 grams of platinum, 2.440 grams of palladium and 0.093 of a gram of rhodium. Assays were conducted by Chemex Labs and Bondar Clegg. Surface sampling will continue on portions of Idaho's 30,000-acre Stillwater complex property until winter intervenes. Only about 30 per cent of the property has been systematically sampled to date. Highlights from the latest sample program are as follows:
