Mark, I think this is a very bullish snapshot. The down part (greater than 21 GB) is very expected, and I would be shocked if that were not so. Obviously, for the first time in this industry, you can get 20GB on one platter. So prices on the older multi-platter models have to drop. In fact those models have to be discontinued, since there is no justification for their production any more. So I would expect clearance sales and dumping of the remnants.

The category to watch now is the single platter models. These drives should not be subject to any influence other than supply/demand. There are no more economies to be wrung out of them. Except maybe when a single platter/2 head drive goes to one head. As in the 10GB capacity. I guess there is another $6 to go in that category.
