Given the way things have been going for the last month, I think we will have two strong chipmakers competing hard to provide us with the best possible CPUs, at reasonable prices, for quite a while. Athlons are available at Best Buy off the shelf - I know, I went and looked. They are at 650 now, it's no secret that they will be at 700 in a few weeks. This will do no more to Intel than to give a solid whack to profits for awhile (not eliminating them, just holding them down), but it will be a revelation to AMDs financial condition. Two companies, competing to provide for us the best products, that is great news for us endusers! Dan
