Sorry! Last post for the day, I hope. Forgot to mention that we also discussed Mitsubishi lawsuit with AXC IR, and found out that Mitsubishi's countersuit is on hold and has NOT been brought to court yet because of court's backlog of cases. AXC and Mitsu are on call to goto trial anyday tho, and are just waiting for teh courts' summons. She did say their countersuit was (my paraphrase)probably more or less just bluff, trying to prove AXC is infringing on Mitsu's patents. AXC's side of it goes to trial in the spring.
In response to the question of how big a pot AXC was going after, she said obviously it was worth more than the current expenditures, which at last report was $2.9M as of 9/30/96 and steadily climbing. Hmmm, means it must be lots more than 3M, so we're probably talking at least high single digits in the millions, which would be at least a $.20 bonus for AXC if and when they win in 97, not to mention ongoing license fees. Given AXC's large # of licensees, would seem they know their stuff and stand a good chance of winning, IMO. |
