Fed existence, unbacked US$ -- forces all to gamble

we must as a result place lifesavings bets against various outcomes, all of which contain risk

the trouble is that the cycles are getting wilder each time

like 1997 Asian Meltdown
like 1998 Russian Default with LTCM death
like Y2K Bubble in Stocks
now 2002 Deflation

the volatility has increased, raising risks for each bet made
the Fed attempts implicitly to force money out into the open
where it often is seized and captured by more skilled gamblers and manipulators
like the Strong Dollar carry trades (gold, yen)

difficult times will get even more difficult imho
