My dual boot linux mint(17.2) and Vista now seems to be running very well. Major issue after installation was frequent freezing. Mouse and keyboard useless forcing stop. After a reboot I found device manager and recalled from earlier attempts getting a message "out of range". I guessed this might be the monitor resolution. The installation used a generic driver for the video card and after loading Nvidia driver all appears well.
