INTC's "woes", for lack of a better term, IMO will prove to be ephemeral. New apps will be coming out in '98 and beyond such as voice recognition and will simply not run well on the current crop of high-end machines. BTW, does anyone know when MSFT is integrating Voice recognition into Windows and its line of Office products? Talk about major hardware upgrades; that may turn out to be the largest in history.

And all the dismay over AMAT and the Sept. BTB is overdone IMO, especially since the Sept. BTB was the highest in recorded history. Morgan also was recently quoted in the Oct 27 issue of Fortune saying that he does not believe AMAT's share price(even in the 50's) adequately reflects future earnings; please note I'm paraphrasing here.

Regards,

Brian
