Thanks for the Mitsubishi info.

I agree with your estimates re: lawsuit settlement. If anything
they may be conservative. Remember that Ampex filed the original
lawsuit in Delaware alleging breach of license agreement AND patent
infringement. The Mitsubishi countersuit, filed in California,
alleges patent infringement only. Using the recent TI/Samsung
settlement as a model, we can assume that Mitusbishi will have
to pay the lawyers' fees (at least $3.0 million), some catch-up
payments (the license agreeement presumably expired in 1995), and
whatever punitive damages the jury will slap on Mitsubishi. What
tilts the odds in AXC's favor is that its core VHS/8mm patents are
relatively well-established, part of the industry lore as a matter
of fact. In 1995 Ampex even increased the number of licensees.
